Short Description

Replace timber posts without digging out the concrete footing. PostSwap™ is a 600mm galvanised steel sleeve designed to be permanently installed in concrete while allowing the timber post to be removed and replaced when needed.

PostSwap™ makes future timber post replacement easier.

With a traditional installation, the timber post is concreted directly into the ground. When the post eventually rots, breaks or becomes damaged, replacing it can mean digging out the old post, breaking up the concrete and starting again.

PostSwap™ is designed to help avoid that work.

The galvanised steel sleeve is installed permanently in the concrete, while the timber post fits inside and is secured with removable fixings.

When the post needs replacing:

REMOVE. PULL. REPLACE. DONE.

1. Remove the bolts or screws holding the post in place.
2. Pull the old timber post out of the sleeve.
3. Slide a new timber post into the existing sleeve.
4. Refit the removable fixings.

The PostSwap™ sleeve and concrete footing remain in the ground.

EASY TO INSTALL

1. Prepare a suitable post hole.
2. Slide the correct-size PostSwap™ sleeve around the bottom of the timber post.
3. Position the post and sleeve in the hole.
4. Check that the post is straight and level.
5. Secure the post using suitable removable bolts or screws.
6. Pour concrete around the outside of the sleeve.
7. Allow the concrete to cure fully before use.

Small steel feet at the bottom of the sleeve become embedded in the concrete and help anchor the sleeve securely in place.
